With this game being so unbalanced, there is no sense in playing. I understand that raidingis part of the game but when it is so easy even with stonewalls to lose protected vaulables it is time to move onto another playable game. I think you will see a mass exodus of players as they figure this out. Work hard gain stuff thenbuild defenses and someone walks in and raids you so easily. Stone walls do not matter, gates are the weakness. To weak, anything else is death. Braziers don't even work. So everyone enjoy it has been fun.

This game needs a ***** of work to make it playable for most people. The default client is complete ****, if it wasn't for reading the help forum, and finding Ender's client, I would have stopped playing Salem after 15 mins. Default client probably causes 90% of player losses, not the complete waste of space walls that are completely useless. Only point of having a wall is to prevent random idiots from wandering into your claim and taking your crap. If anyone really wants in, they just have to exert a lil effort, or bring friends, or have a large number of alts.

In concept Salem is a good looking game. In practice, it's a game that looks and plays as if it's been in pre-alpha state since the mid 90's.

I think the core of the game is fine, we just need some defense and gluttony tweaks, and some fixes to faulty implemetations: tree being able to grow next to each other, fields/pots in mines....

reminds me of really old Armada Online, it had a shrinking population, now it's on Steam Greenlight

I stopped building things, only planting trees now, the most safe investment in this game is trees... nobody cares for them and you can grow fond and proud of your own created forest without being too afraid of others

I would love to plant trees, but it takes ages to up natural philosophy..

Yea, it gives some problems and they´re working on it. But you know that the game is verry complexe ! Give them time . I love this game and hope that it continue ... because the game has very much capacity/potential !!!

Do what I do. Hang out, wander around randomly killing animals and flop down your head wherever you want to log out at. You'll never be a superstar in Salem, but you'll have fun here and there. You won't have anything to lose if you do get raided and odds of getting killed are slim with such a low online population. I've had more fun doing that than setting up a farm and mine and grinding away.
