Store Prices

Is it just me or do the prices for items in the store seem really high? I have looked at other in-game stores for other games and compared similarly helpful items and Salem's seems really high. Also, a lot of these other games don't have perma-death. Seems Salem is charging a lot more for items and there is a much higher chance of losing it. I do like that the economy in this game is not inflated (yet) but to price things comparable to other games it would seem 100s for 99 cents is more on par with what I'm seeing for pay to win games. Just a thought. Ten bucks to change your sex for instance seems like something closer to a $3 perk.

I try to stay out of these things as I can never be sure if what I'm saying on the matter really matters. I will say that prices have been lowered once already on some things.

You dont have to buy silver, since silver is easy to come by in the game. If you want vanity items, I guess its up to you to decide if its worth it.

I don't mind the prices for vanity packs, not also do they give you fancy vanity items they also give you skills. Awesome for new players or you can always stash them till you get killed or use them for an alt.

The price for silver though is way to high compared to how easy it is to make ingame. Of course don't want it to be so cheap that everyone buys it and it affects the ingame economy too much, but slashing them in half or so would still be a decent middle point I think, making it attractive to buy.

It just was a silver scaling for higher price silver amounts.

A thorough knowledge of the psyence of Constitutional Calculation is an absolute necessity when founding a new Colony in hitherto unsettled New World lands. The Founding Father's Pack provides both a Town Charter and the skills to use it, putting you well on your way to forming a Town of your own.

Includes:

1 Founding Father's Hat
1 Founding Father's Coat
1 Founding Father's Sash
1 Founding Father's Shirt
1 Founding Father's Breeches
1 Founding Father's Shoes
1 Founding Father's Arquebus
1 Founding Father's Diploma: Compacts & Constitutions, Settling, Survival Skills

This thread again...

You clearly belong to the lower rank of the people... ¦]

Why buy a 0.5 $ million Rolls Royce when an old Lada costs 200 $ ???
Why eat a 20 $ steak while you can catch rat & eat them ???
Why game 20h to grind C&C while you can make hundreds of $$$ in that time ???
Why even play a game while you could improve your life to be able to afford such items ???

I haven't trained Small Game Hunting IRL. Guess I'm stuck with $20 steaks :(

The way I see it, the devs probably realize that selling silver isn't the way to go (hence the prohibitively high prices). It can ruin the in-game economy and/or turn this game into some pay-to-win piece of junk. Those packs always seemed like placeholders to me, to test out their store until they could implement more interesting store items.

The starter packs seem like a good enough deal if you're inclined to spend money on in-game stuff. Getting a complete (unique) outfit and a bit of a head-start on skills/equipment sounds fair for $15.

Such a shame that it's mostly newbies that get those packs, and thus anyone wearing the special outfits will look like a walking pile of loot to unscrupulous players. Getting your store-bought stuff stolen the day you bought it is an excellent way to put people off the game.
