Crime Scents = silver

Getting money from collecting scents, and killing the "criminal". Garbing his head and taking it to Boston (Last part was more or less a joke )

Depending on the type of scent:
You would be able to KO and get the cash /killing somebody for only trespassing would nullify the reward.
And otherwise if the crime was to big you could bring his head 4 extra cash.
That way it wouldn't be worthy killing newbie's.



Actually i would be happy if i could collect skulls but anyway...

I'd propose the idea of the bounty on someone's head increasing as their character produces more scents making a very infamous character's death more meaningful. Some precautions would need to be set to avoid alt spamming though. Like bounty only increases for murder of worthy characters, or theft of items over a certain value and the same item can't be stolen more than once. Etc

Too easy to abuse, in my opinion. Players could just train up an alt, commit crimes on their own claims using said alt, then kill the alt for silver.

I'd prefer people could just dump silver into a bounty and if you kill them you get the pot. No silver generated.

True, i created a post after doing this one with that idea lol, But the idea was making not worthy killing a noobie

What if you make the amount of silver for the reward related to the general stats of the character. Making an algorithm to calculate that wouldn't be really hard

Yeah, but nobody would put silver in just for nobodies. Only actual criminals or people generally hated would get a decent pot. No one would hunt down someone that has a 100 silver bounty or whatever, best case scenario for the poster maker is that they happen to be murdered and some silver ends up in the murderer's mail box/bank* and they wonder where they got it. There also shouldn't be much info given on the poster. You just get a written description, total money, and can hold crime evidence if there is any. (This is assuming tracking will be redone so it dosen't suck) To determine people that didn't do crimes, you would have to have them memorized and you attune the person to the poster.

I wouldn't want it to even clump together posters that have the same bountee (The one who makes the poster being the bountyer), but since you can check if evidence is the same perpetrator, it wouldn't make much sense not to.

You should also be able to add to the description if you added money to the bounty.

I know it sounds sort of silly getting instant silver without recognizing the bountee, ecspecially to H&H veterans, but salem aims to be more of a "real MMO" so cutting some corners for the sake of game mechanics is better imo.


*The mailman/banker should have a message that only people that have anything in the post office/bank can see so it isn't until a month later that they realize they got some silver.

I was thinking more something like Boston generates a bounty when you give them the scents then after some kind of algorithm it could calculate the bounty size for example it could
Set the bounty depending on the criminal stats.
And increase when more scents pointing to the same character are given to Boston lets say to the serif lol.

That way killing some one just because its easy could generate or increase a bounty in your person.

The thing i find bad about what I wrote is that you could calculate the biles of other ppl.

And if the algorithm takes in count the quality of the criminal, criminals created with the only purpose of committing a crime for farming wouldn't be worth the effort.

People can commit crimes on their own claim and get free silver.
