Village Warning System

Problem: With a large village it is quite easy for a perp to commit crimes even if people are online and in the village while it is happening. It promotes bot programs to constantly patrol the perimeter and alert members via village chat.

Solution: New buildable object Alarm Bell

The alarm bell can only be placed on a village claim. It would require expensive metal materials to construct, and drain additional authority per day without adding to the maximum authority of the village. The alarm bells would have a set radius, where if a crime is commited with in the area of influence of the bell, it would send a message to the village chat or to the system log of all villagers that are currently online. When there are different kinds of metals implemented (brass, silver, copper, gold, etc), bells constructed with more expensive materials could have a bigger area of influence. The bells would not say where the crime is being commited, only a warning that a crime is being commited on the village claim.

To add to this, it would be nice if you got a tracking arrow over your head pointing towards the spot of the crime.

I fully support this idea. It is depressing that everytime I raid the Fortress of Fail I see multiple red squares that can't be bothered to investigate the shennanigans I am pulling. Not sure if they don't see me or don't care but at least with an alarm bell they have no excuse to tell StaxHax "oh I didn't know".

Terrible idea. The more land you choose to defend the harder it becomes to do so- basic tactics. If we are going to automate something give us sawmills. There should be a level of worry and anxiety in a bigger city. You should have to do perimeter walks every so often and not just be complacent.

This isn't like rams in hnh where you check every 8 or so hours. Anyone can solo raid at any time. You expect patrol alts to be going around 24/7? Get real.

Exactly. I've now changed my mind to agree with Rocky. In our Tribal lands for example Rocky is known as the "Perimeter Runner". All day every day we have him simply doing laps around the exterior with tracking on. This not only keeps him in shape for our encounters with Mushi but also eliminates having to ever drop the fork cursor on the Chief's mouse.

Obviously, people do perimeter walks all the time to check for new scents...but to ask somebody to do that ALL the time is retarded. Might as well just make patrol bots like in HnH.

And, didn't I say it would be expensive and add to the town upkeep? You guys constantly say, there is no reason to have village claim and call people noobs for using village claims. I am trying to make village claims have additional uses, so that people will want to use them. I don't think having HUGE GIANT OMG pclaims for 20 people to live on is intended...people are supposed to want to form villages if they have many people that they cooperate with.

I think it was suggested in Paradox forums.

Looks like somebody is mad that he didn't understand the game mechanics before just building a V-Claim.

I think there is a point though. Those who foolishly went the V-Claim route (because it is SUPPOSE to be the better claim for multiple people) need some kind of incentive at this point. Hopefully The Great Spirit institutes yet another P-Claim refund though when he nerfs all the players who went mega-P-Claim or buffs the V-Claim.
