eat to live

one of the concepts I loved about H&H is that you need to eat to live and your character could slowly die of starvation. I have always loved this concept even though its rarity in video games. I under stand Salem concept of eating to do X but I find the system not as compelling as eating to live. I understand that in H&H no one really died of starvation (if any one did) because you had to eat to do X as your hunger meter went down when you did things.

any ways i should make an actual suggestion at some point here rather then vaguely point things out.

please put in an eat to live system, some bile should decrees (possible even a 5th type of bile) and you should need eat to replenish it. If it is decided that a current bile is to be used then I would like to request a starvation debuff, something that can appear to tell people they have a specific amount of time to find something to eat, or KO/DIE to starvation.

Mmm, to soften the game slightly for the broader appeal, everything that used to kill you except player murder currently doesn't. The couple incidents have been bugs according to loftar.

I think that's why they took starvation out. And to be fair, it was only ever noobs who got punished with that really. I don't think early game needs to be harder/scarier than it already is.

You have to 'eat to live' if you settle in the darkness. Try it out, if that is what you really want.

eating in darkness is pointless, as darkness drains current values. It will auto regenerate once you are away from darkness. Food restores hard values - current value regenerates to it. Darkness don't lower those. Or at least as far as I ventured into darkness it drained only current value. Maybe further away it will drain both, I don't know.

I think there was a recent change to how healing works specifically. Healing seems to work off your hard value, not your maximum now. I thought it used to be based on your maximum, but honestly I'm unsure.

If you let your max get too low, the darkness drain will get you. Hence, living in the darkness, you can't just let your stats run out or you'll KO constantly.
