State of Salem and Fix

Population only appears to be growing; in truth folks are leaving. Yeah there are newbies in Planters looking for bunks but they are either dead rertunies, vets, or days from quitting. I've reached out to enough to know.
As my own town Mayor who's destroyed three trial town leantos for players who absolutely disappeared and haven't logged a day in 3 weeks, nor TS, nor a sign in Town, or another else... I know for myself there are more dropping out than sticking around.
JC needs to get his head out of his ass... or the game is done.
I remember making this same argument when Star Citizen was a dream... and now it's in Alpha... and Black Desert is live...and there are other games.
Exactly what niche of the gaming world does Salem absolutely fill/dominate anymore?!
I have some little bit invested and I like the chores somewhat... but I'm the exception.
Fix -
1. Admit Popham was a mistake and end it now. Honor what commitments you can and bring over animals to Providence. New content might bring back other players.
2. Restore the raiding system to what it was or some margin of what it was.
3. Offer more users access to the test server. Might as well be the overworld, dreamworld, or some other world for all purposes vs what the 'real' world is like. That's got to change.
4. Make the game more publicly available via Steam or other. Most vets use custom client but you have to log in at least once for someone to share that with you... and that once is what matters.
Fail to do 3/4 of these and your boast the game can exist forever w/o a single dollar and constant game updates will be put to the test... and you'll have a dwindling population to boot. Folks that move on to Star Citizen and other Salem-like games aren't going to drop them for new updates here. The time to sink the hook is now... not later.
I'm not suggesting Salem isn't viable; it's just that it's not the only game around anymore in this genre. The time to convince others to at least try and stick with Salem for a few months; locking them in is now.
Not in 6-12 months after they are heavily invested in more populated games.
