Salem Membership Subscription

Postby Paradoxyc » Mon Feb 01, 2016 2:34 pm

DISCLAIMER: This is not meant to be Pay 2 Win, nor will it be required to play the game

The Idea: Two types of membership subscriptions.

The first: $5 a month
What you get with option #1: Access to a members only building in Providence, Basic Member forum name color, access to weekly member only events, and a special Developer given item once a month.

The Developer Item: Aesthetic use mainly, something like clothing or furniture.

The second: $10 a month
What you get with option #2: Access to a members only building in Providence, Premium Member forum name color, access to weekly member only events, a special Developer given item once a month, and a sort of care package.

The Care Package: 2 Boxes similar to the Christmas event boxes - one common or semi-rare chance box, and one semi-rare to rare item chance box. The rare item will have a 25% chance to be any store item (including something such as 80 silver or a spring).

This subscription is not meant to be anything more than an added bonus, and should not affect the economy tremendously. Special events, monthly items, and other benefits would be a great way to increase the population of the server, as well as keep older players interested.

Any suggestions and feedback are welcome. Thank you all

We already have the monthly bonus thing in cloaks.

The devs should never do public events. This is a sandbox and we need to start making these ourselves.

There is no need or real reward in a monthly sub. What we have available is more than enough for people to toss some cash at the devs while getting something cool out of it.

I agree, but 5 dollars a month may be better for some people who don't want anything specific, rather than 20 dollars once or twice per account. I've only ever bought two harvest packs, but I wouldn't mind paying a small sum for a monthly subscription with some nice benefits. Maybe everything except for events if you think thats unnecessary

I believe the building and events thing contradicts game's spirit. Right now everything that can be bought can be obtained in game in various ways, so any bonuses that are tied to a paying account would ruin the balance and create a bitter atmosphere.

You already have many different options for 5 a month and actually get something from it? Have you looked at the store at all or are you wanting to donate money for nothing in return?

you can always just buy yourself a hat every month, or a tool every other month.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

As I stated you would get a membership item every month, a member only area, and a forum name color. There's nothing in the store for 5 dollars that I need, but a membership I would pay for. The incentive is that it gives players something to look forward to as well as the chance to be a part of a group

I kinda like the idea. It is like gambling and getting a random surprise every month. There are the mystery chests already yes but it does not feel really like a gamble so much to me other than randomly getting a bonnet. I would say if a building was done it should be something like only allowing you to change hair cuts and color not really anything else.

The building could be similar to the den, with other types of benefits, possibly appearance change and maybe a shop with some items that you can't buy from the stalls in town

What if the membership was a 1-month subscription ticket item, and when used it would give you membership for that month? That way it could be bought ingame as well
