squashes, cucumbers, watermelons

Postby Procne » Tue Jan 19, 2016 12:57 pm

Instead of 4 different families of pumpkins we should have different plants from Cucrbitaceae faimily (which includes pumpkins).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cucurbitaceae

I find it boring that all tiers of products from pumpkin family provide mostly pumpkin flesh, in 12 kinds which differ only slightly in gluttony stats.
So, scrap 3 tiers of pumpkins and instead add squashes, cucumbers ( ¦] ) and watermelons ( ¦] ¦] )

lumping in watermelons with pumpkins would be rude to the other melons tho
there is so much room for melons and squash to be 2 separate crops (squash and pumpkins are in the Cucurbita pepo family and melons in the Cucumis melo family with watermelon being different than both [Citrullus lanatus])

It's not about new kind of crap, it's about replacing existing pumpkins. Instead 4 tiers of pumpkins there would be pumpkins, squashes, watermelons and cucumbers (or melons), depending on influence bars, from the same type of seeds.
