Today I wanted to make some modifications to my settlement, so i destroyed a wall, and both sides of it turned red, i said ok np, i will repair them, then i notice that i will need 90 granite stones to do it, OMG!!!! THIS IS INSANE!!!!
The question is why i need so many granite stones to repair a wall if i use 1 granite and 3 stones to make one. At least you could make common stones are used.

Because the amount of time to break a wall was increased, the devs decided it would be unfair for raiders that the repairing system to be so easy, so they significantly increased the amount of items needed to repair a wall to balance it more
It does suck having to repair walls if you want to make a change in your base tho....

We can have it this way or it could cost 100 granite to build the wall. This would make more sense from an in game logic point of view but would make building walls miserable.

Thus why it is best to plan your base beforehand so you won't really have to go through much of that.

That sounds about right, just compare the relation of repair material to material needed per tile, in that regard, it's actually less than for a stone hedge! :D

But it takes forever, I'd say repairing, especially of brick walls, should be faster, you can barely repair it faster than someone can beat it down.

That's the whole point
While someone is beating it down you are able to stomp etc and stop them for repairing...
Why shouldn't they be allowed to do the same to prevent you from repairing :P

I think it shouldnt cost all those mats to repair a wall after a base redesign. If a raider does the damage I can see that, don't want to be able to repair faster than a raider can take down the wall. There is an easy fix, just make a 12 hour timer on the damaged wall segment, after which a percentage of normal building materials is all thats needed.
