Need more Mining/underground Features

Postby Wandering » Tue Oct 20, 2015 5:04 pm

I'd like to see more underground stuff.

Lakes or Open spaces in Mining. Things you expect to see in caves- the occasional pocket- the geode so big you can walk into it, etc.

Shallow water alone would be a huge boost to sifting, etc..as now you have to go through X levels to do it. Even if I could bring water to me... same problem- distance and time; but aquifers are everywhere... why not in Salem?

The game has Wells ~ where does that water come from...and why can't find the source via Mining?

Sure, why not? But John has said that you won't find water that allows sifting in a mine. You can't see anything in the dark by the light of a torch and must go above ground.

Temples, well, maybe in the deep, deep parts of mines. Ideally with C.H.U.D.S or trogdolytes, or like, lizardmen or snake people. (The lizard men or snake people because it's not JUST a Lovecraft thing, although we did blatantly steal one depiction of Nyarlathotep. The setting is too far south for any Ithaqua shenanigans, although if we wanted to dance with that kind of stuff, freaky man faced Rat familiars, and.... Stuff. In the woods might fit. Maybe the Darkness could mess with your head if you wandered around in there more than it does already. Like, you have a small drain just being there sanity wise. It IS spooky and dark.)

Primeval megalithic sites dedicated to the worship of infernal (or worse) personages, I think we have one anyway on Providence? Maybe it has some benefit to witches I don't know about. Maybe not. Salem is fun that way. But if we really don't, they need to be able to do ritual magic at places like that or at smaller gathering places, possibly homemade. Would probably not be at all good for your sanity. The possible use of unsavory potions with hallucinogens would also probably not be good for your sanity either.

IDk ~ I was thinking journey to 'Center of the Earth'... where you find a new land and dinosaurs and such :)

I suppose maybe that's be more than just 9 levels to reach though?

Maybe the next world?

Also mine chests: special chests that spawn in a mine and has precious depending on the mine level.

Fossil inspirationals would be reasonable, giving a mix of H&H and M&M.
