Map Markers

Postby riker88 » Mon Aug 17, 2015 7:35 am

Find a good lime deposit - set a marker
Find an abandoned base and need to make multiple trips - set a marker.
Friend has a base and you like to go check on the progress there - set a marker.

These markers will work the same as your homestead pointer.

Maps exist in the real world, why not salem?

Not a bad idea, I actually have a system like this that I use for myself. Client side map dumps and marker making is easy. I'm surprised this had not been added ages ago for all to use.

You already have new world surveys... what's the point of this change? Sounds redundant

You couldn't because it would despawn quickly

:D

I remember that JC had tell us in past that there will be no mapping tool and markers ingame.
You have external tools for that and they work fine.
And if you have some Skills in How-To-Make-A-Website then you can share them easily with others.
There are some describtions in forum to find about implementing an online map.

You can only use the survey once, that's the problem

That is not a problem, that is great, because until some months ago we don't had anything like this.

You can use a single survey only once to teleport somewhere, but there's no limit to how many surveys you can make or how many you can make of one spot. We purposely made them very cheap to craft. You don't even need paper.

The only marker you will get is alts teleporting to a survey and party them when you want to go back
