Stackable wooden boxes

Why they shouldn`t be stackable and act as mini-bins?

Once u fill wooden box with stuff of same type (15 sinews for example) u can build another one on top of it by adding same material (5 fresh boards and 4 wooden plugs) + cotton/leather.
Lower one get closed and new 15 slots open but they can be filled only with item identical to first one (bins mechanic, first item define content).
They become un-movable after stacking.
After it get filled u need to close it again with same cloth/leather to become finnished stack or add more boards/plugs to raise to another level, up to maximum 3.
U cant add/take anything from finnished stack without breaking it and pick what u put in it (Bees-skep mechanic).

This mechanic will add cheap low-lvl storage that conserve space on small or temporary claims like hunting cabins. 3 layer stack will give you 45 slots storage unit against next in line (25 slots chest) but without conformity of transporting it in anyway once you start to stack them.

If you can only fit 15 sinew into the box you can fit 15 pickaxes in, then something is already wrong, You should be able to put 100's of sinew into a single wooden chest.

weight limit storage box;s are the way forward.

Simple make all storage inventorys on an expanding scrolling window were once the weight limit is reached you can no longer add items.

Also make weapon / tool racks for metal equipment, with high weight limits however only tools / weapons can be stacked.

Surely it cannot be that hard to impliment after they have already made most of these changes to the main inventory and should have the basic coding already inplace.

Salem is 3d, yet it isn't really 3d. Therefore your idea does not really stand, that would only make sense with full 3d games.

Yes i know its Java 2.5D system but even then stacking is possible to implement, what i`m suggesting is not to put object over object (which java do not support afaik) but to use already build object/structure as material/base for new one, which is implementable. And yes, i would always pick weight based storage over slot based storage, but thats out of limit of current mechanic.
