Pitchfork should also be Sword

Pitchforks for raiding, come on! Why not allow us to Thrust with it and use it exactly like a sword. It will be fun raiding with pitchforks and torches.

I much rather have the pitchforks stay as a tool and instead buffed to have an increased needle drop rate. Unless it got worked into a mob lynching mechanism that is, as it would be more appropriate with pitchfork and torches then than during a raid; and as a pure bonus Darwoth would then have an even better reason to complain about zergs.

That doesn't make any sense, if anything using a pitchfork should reduce your chance of getting a needle.

If you're sitting there tossing **** tons of hay off the hay stack and not picking it by hand, there's realistically no chance of finding a needle because you only find the needle when it pokes you in the finger.

You trade a really fast gathering speed for a lower chance (if any) for finding a needle.

I see a grand opportunity to harvest tears here JC, remove needle finding chance entirely with Pitchforks and make finding a needle cause bleeding and a random disease ¦]

Yeah, it makes about as much sense as rabbits turning into march hares, but I digress. The point is that the pitchfork, being the only unique item in the tool box pack, is not really an item that attracts those of us who go for the profession packs. Your suggestion makes it go from "meh" to "useless"; nobody in their right mind would pick the speed over the chance of getting a needle. But well, if you want realism, imagine the pitchfork is made from a magnetic metal and thus the needle sticks to it. Magnets is after all a 2500 year old discovery, and was used in compasses already back in the 12th and 13th century, so isn't out of place with Salem's time line. That it's a bit fancy metal for a pitchfork is besides the point, it's an item shop item - it's supposed to be fancy.

And yet,

This topic is about making Thrust work with the Pitchfork to give it some other use for those folks who get it. If you want a Needle, put 1000 haystacks and fill them all and get needles. This is not about needles. I'd just like to see the pitchfork used as a weapon. Maybe a version of a sword that cannot have a whetstone used on it, for example.

It is unfortunate that although throughout history we have used common tools as some of the most effective weapons, in Salem we cannot use tools as weapons.
