A few ideas on the topic

IMHO i think the stocks is to lenient

Insanity goes a long way to add some extra punishment for the crimes

I would like to surgest a few addions

Posiblity to tickle a stocked person with a feather to add a low ammount of insanity, gives lowbies a chance to hurt raiders alittle

Tar and Feather someone either if they are summoned or in the stocks dunno what works the best will ruin a piece of clothing.

My 2 cents

You clearly haven't been stocked before. You have ample opportunity to "hurt" raiders. You can also be a ranger. If enough people whip and throw at you then you aren't going to have a good time. Doesn't insanity also get added to your time in the stocks?

Also disease can lead to permanent death. The stocks have almost always been a death sentence for my characters.

People can also level up the humor damage they deal with the whip, so some of the people with really high justice points can do significant punishment to someone in the stocks, particularly if they have an executioner's whip.

Tar and feather sounds like a fun detail though, would give people something to use those turkey feathers on. But instead of destroying a clothing, which I think might be too harsh, maybe have it occupy a random clothing slot for a specific amount of time instead - displacing any cloth that may be there (it'll get put into the criminals inventory) and preventing the criminal from equipping anything in that slot for the duration the tar and feather stains that slot.

But why tho? What would they be wearing that would punish them other then a visual? Removing a plague mask would be OP.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Any character who has never committed a crime may throw one rock at a stocked player to do permanent bile damage and add 20 to Full & Fed up.

Shhhh, I tried to make it sound all innocent. Then you had to announce the "Trojan" horse.

Let's face it, who hasn't accidentally hit a townie atleast once and left an assault scent.
