Blistersteel formula

Hello!

I think i understand the blistersteel formula. That it takes 7 days and that you need to have the furnace lit for as long as possible on highest setting, but also taking out the blistersteel as soon as it is done.
Usually i always get 100% success rate, because i am able to time it perfect when it is done and pick it out. But this time i had work, which meant it took me 10 hours after it was finished to pick it out. All dross =(

Seems abit harsh does it not? Consider people with other obligations in life. Maybe the devs would consider raising the time abit? Just a suggestion.

I think 10 hours is a long time, even after 3 hours i got mine 100% blistersteel once. If you are in a group make a whatsapp group or something..

Yes of course, it is a long time. And if you are playing with friends it does help.
But for a hermit it is abit harder, especially when you have a job where you can't login every day. They changed the system with the claims so you would not be at an disaddvantage for not logging in for awhile. And almost every other aspect of the game does not punish you for not logging in. Like planting, smelting, timber piles, coal piles etc.

But making blistersteel does punish you for not being active. I think it could need a tweak, or atleast be less punishing. I would love to play everyday, but i simply don't have the time to login at a regular basis sometimse.

It might be better to try and buy the steel you need. You could even trade your wrought for steel. Most of the game is very forgiving to single players but this being a multi player game there are bound to be a few areas that are a little more restrictive. ^.^ There is nothing wrong with not being able to do everything yourself or on your own.

I believe the patch steel was added with was partially dedicated to encouragement of joining groups, so being difficult for hermits was exactly the goal, same as wrought iron and it works as intended. If you are strongly against joining a town or inviting others to join you, you can always buy some steel from others, though it isn't cheap, or you can try to negotiate a deal with someone to trade let's say 6-8 bars of pig iron for 1 bar of steel.

Try to time it, if you know you won't be there within a reasonable amount of time the day and hour it finishes then don't start the process before you know you can make it. For example, if you know you got mostly just the weekends free, then obviously don't throw in the Blister Coffin at Wednesday - do it on a Saturday etc.

Well new Ender client has a function that display a date that timer will end, so set up a timer start it and you instantly will know if its ok and you can make it or not

That is true, and i try to match the time.

When my blister last time all turned to dross it was supposed to finish 4 hours before work. But due to server crashes i think? The timer was a couple hours later, when i was at work. That does really suck, as i do all my blister alone and 80 at the same time. Perhaps just extending the time to 24 hours? Remove the timer or maybe put in another factor to failing making blistersteel.
