How about several Redcoat Guards stationed around Providence keeping the peace and enforcing the Kings law. These guards would not be stationary but patrol and beat on any pilgrim with crime debuffs. This would not cause great damage maybe 2-5 blood damage every 8 seconds or so. It could potentially ko a player in town if they loitered to long, had low blood bile or went afk, it would also let others know they were involved in some sort of criminal activity. The guards would continue to hound, keep said person argoed and follow them until they left town. Thus a person with buffs would have to sneak around town avoiding the roaming guards and if spotted conduct their business quickly and head home. It would be possible to have more than one guard after you and if all guards were occupied others criminals could walk freely. Would limit those who do crimes from chumming around town and possibly cause a few extra tears. The guards who had someone argoed could be shouting "Halt! In the name of the King" to draw some extra attention.

Let them also attack witches, what a horrible idea this is.
Reminds me to WoW alot.

Why not witches, beeing a witch is a serious crime. Just because there are fewer ''criminals'' in Salem than witches does not mean that they should be included to everything for peoples sake.

Well, at least this shouldn't be apart of judging system. To start this prosecution you need to provide evidence and decent payment to law enforcers first.

It's gonna be hard to code seeing how no NPC has ever moved in Salem. Or perhaps we can make them as mobs?
I don't think they should hit people. Maybe only the ones in a wanted list, the ones who lay waste and commit crime in providence in front of them (not debuff or scent)
Remove the invincibility of Providence so we can have our tea party.

You don't need that in a community driven mmorpg.

All knowing NPCs are something JC has said he doesn't like, a redcoat npc that just KNOWS witches or criminals and attacks them definitely would not work. I wouldn't mind seeing a redcoat npc in Providence just for the fun of it, but not like this.

I see the point and guess I agree with npc's not being all knowing. What if it applied only to characters that have been in stockades and whipped as sort of a banishment (wanted list)

The risk of being criminal is being put in stockades
The risk of being a witch is taking heavy drain in Providence
Adding guards would add nothing meaningful to the game. At most it would make people use even more alts.
