Wild goose chase

There is often suggestions for animal tracking that pop up, and there are reasons why this wouldn't work as people want it. Animals don't wander around the map any distance, let alone how the server actually handles them. An animal tracking movement option was suggested that increases the chance of animal spawns though.
Anyway, the idea is for a "Wild goose" to spawn somewhere on the map, there would always be 1 goose in the world at a time, if it is killed a new one is spawned. This goose would behave like a normal animal with respects to how it visibly moves. However the spawn would be handled on a timer rather than when a player enters a new section of the world. Every time the goose despawns it leaves a scent that points to where it has "flown" to, ie its new spawn, this should be perhaps 15 minutes run time away, or further depending on balance requirements. The goose flies to a new location every 1-2 hours, or whatever is appropriate, meaning you can easily catch up to it if you run after it, but it might take you hours to try and follow it.
A plucked goose gives goose feathers and a chance for "super soft down" which is a decent artifice, god knows what it gives though, good defence I guess.
A stuffed goose requires acorn and walnut stuffing which is made from a majestic acorn, a walnut and wheat flour.
Carving a roast goose gives goose fat on top of the usual portions of poultry, this goose fat can be used to make crispy roast potatoes.
Each time the goose spawns it has a chance of laying a goose egg in a nearby stump, log, bush.
When a goose is killed all scents for that goose are removed.
Geese are about the level of a deer to kill.
Now if you come across the scent of a wild goose, do you want to waste your time going on a wild goose chase?
