-Religious persecutions (we can have a whole bunch of different religions, Jeovah Witnesses, Mormons, Calvins, etc...)
-Pirates (and probably Privateers that would make the...)
-Taxes (grow exponentially until we....)
-Revolt (so we can enjoy our...)
- Slaves. Because my humor is so black it's picking cotton (sarcasm intended).
As long as those things are not in game then the setting isn't even 10% accurate.
