Hello readers,
Another suggestion regarding inspiration gain, or maybe even a whole system on it's own!
How about we add achievements to the game? Achieving them could earn you points, and they'd be achievements such as: cut an x amount of boards, make an x amount of cloth, kill an x amount of rabbits, kill an argopelter... All of these would earn us inspiration...
And not just leave it at those lame achievements... Let's do more exciting special achievements as well... Like for the explorer's: Set foot in every single biome of the game (this includes the snow biome!) and what about creating a mountain somewhere nearby the main city where players can take the challenge to get to the top, to get an achievement when they reach it?
It could also be a system on it's own, counting people their achievement point with which they can brag!
So what do you guys think about achievements?
Yours Sincerely,
Sorrol

The team doesn't like achievements as you may know them or a system of that regard in the way achievements are commonly used. In essence, modern gaming achievements are largely a single-player goal function of arbitrary guideposts used to motivate players in doing a certain thing, often involving a grind of some kind or at least participating in an otherwise mundane activity that reflects how hard you've been working over a period of time. The thing is, often in order to prosper in Salem, you need to do these things anyway. This is not to mention the inevitable flaw of what happens when you complete all these achievements and have nothing left to aim to due to your gratification source having run dry (while you should have probably been spending that time gobbling food to get stronger or building more braziers to defends your base!) So, rather than implement a system of achievements, we began a few leaderboards which can be found through NPCs in town. Given the multiplayer nature of the game, these inherently competitive "achievement" systems allow for continued prompting of climbing ever higher in your character's progress in a give number of fields. At the moment they are a bit lofty for a new player to try reaching any time soon. Personally I like the idea of a "report card" of sorts that can be referenced to see some fun stats like how many walls bashed, crimes left in the world, rabbits killed, damage done with a thrust and so on. I don't think this would be tied to any rewards unless the given statistic was part of a leaderboard, but it would still be fun (in my opinion) to be able to reference all these things you've done in the world on that particular character.

Marp laying down those truthbombs. In reality achievements are sort a antathetical to Salem, there are plenty of more appropriate rewards in place for hardwork. There was an old idea similar to this one kicking around back about Perfect Pictures or something, that setting foot in certain areas of importance would spawn an Perfect Picture inspirational in your inventory, like Mountain Top Sunset at the tops of certain mountains or some such thing. My point is just that maybe you can modify your idea a bit and find something that works with the feel of Salem a bit more.

The option MarpTarpton told about (the report-card thing) sounds very appealing indeed, I understand that the achievement system would not be a good one in the world of Salem, I'm kinda merely looking for alternative options to obtain inspiration rather than regeneration over time... This'd make the game more active since people would be busy doing these options to obtain the inspiration...

Grind pots if you want more inspiration.
It's not about the actual inspiration, but having more ways of getting them... Variety if you wish to give it a name
