Upcoming UI Changes

With the upcoming Inventory management changes we have a choice to make on what resolutions to 'support' in terms of window sizes. We want to go with a system that supports and feels good on 1600 resolutions and bigger. However, we respect that some players may be playing on lower settings. Here is an example of how things look on 1600

Image

As you can see, going to a lower resolution will have your new inventory 'spill' into other areas of your screen and on extremely low resolutions like 800x600 you would need to be 'dragging' your inventory partially off-screen simply to see the whole thing. So now I'm curious, just how many people would this effect, and, would those people feel that the additional inventory space would be worth whatever 'hassle' that would subject them to.

That's a lot of inventory room!

Edit: Yeah just make the game play on 1600, just dont nerf that inventory!

Keep in mind that this change of course comes with the Encumbrance system. Where your major bottleneck is intended to be carry weight instead of inventory space.

Are you serious? It's made exactly for them. Look at how much stuff the forager just foraged.

yeah but what about his speed? id imagine carrying around 100 items would reduce your speed to basically zero?

The thing is - number of items won't matter. It will probably have a weight meter like: naked char has 0/15kg - the bar is green. Guy carrying 5 iron bars and has 5/5 blood/phlegm will have 15/15 and will hardly walk and drain a lot of phlegm. Guy with 150/150 bl/ph with 5 bars will have 15/50kg and will walk easily and obviously have inventory slots still left, but with 50/50kg he will walk exactly as a noob in the second example.

Do yourself a favor then and don't pass opinions founded by things generated in your own imagination.

I play on both options so it would be great if both would be comfortable.
