How about having a weekly ( or daily ) lottery ?
people could buy a lottery ticket from providence for 5 s from an npc, who would also inform you about the total current sum if you win.
also option to buy multiple for better chances .
this way even non-established people could hope for lot of money

Lotteries are a tax on the stupid. I'm sure his majesty would approve of this endeavor provided of course he gets his cut.

I would like to see something like this, it's fun to test your luck sometimes.
I was hoping to arrange a lottery by selling purses with random amount of silver, unfortunately this is impossible. Not only you can see amount of silver inside, but also when you're buying it, silver simply disappears and you're getting an empty purse.

An established town can do it by themselves somehow...

Not many people would trust a player, even known and somewhat trusted one, to take their money and not cheat in any way.

The Natives are quite interested in setting something like this up as a way for Pilgrims to Gamble on their lands. Not a priority though.

I like this idea very much. Besides the 'fun' of participating to a lottery with your friends in a community event, it allows players to 'win an event' regardless of their experience in game and how long they have been playing it. Unlike the dock club event, it would not discriminate anyone as even beginners should be able to collect a few coins of silver to pay for this and enjoy being part of the event just as much as the others with 'equal chances' to 'win'.
I never read much/like much people's ideas on the forum but this was very exciting to read, gambling is so much fun.
