A Parent's Will

"'Tis the maddest trick a man can ever play in his whole life,
to let his breath sneak out of his body without any more ado,
and without so much as a rap o'er the pate, or a kick of the guts;
to go out like the snuff of a farthing candle, and
die merely of the mulligrubs, or the sullens."

-Miguel De Cervantes

When someone is murdered, they should have the ability to either get a will at the inheritance stand in the character creation room or buy from the boston stalls. This would allow a player to kill the person who murdered them by picking up the will from their inventory and right clicking it on them (they must be ko'd!). This would leave scents, of course. Maybe the player will have to attune the will to the murder scent and it will disappear with the scent when the time runs out, or just last forever. This would NOT be able to summon the player.

Rights of Englishmen should be reguired but the Story of Cain & Abel is not. This allows a player who recently died to at least have the ability to exact revenge on their parent's murderer without grinding Cain & Abel or hiring an assassin. I feel the time to get Cain & Abel is far too short with murder scents, not even keeping in mind the time to grind humours to a reasonable number, but reguiring Rights of Englishmen dosen't make it too easy.

I like this idea.
As a side note: if you collect Evidence of Murder it will last 2-3months after being collected. So after dying you just have to track perp homestead fast and then you can grind your stats up to get your revenge.

sounds bad. you basically want a easy way to get murder. you should of added your humors get a boost to fight the person while you are at it.

Thing is, murder evidence (what you use to actually kill the perp) lasts 90 days. All you need to do is figure out where they live and then your dish can be served anytime within the next 1.5 months.

i would love to write my will to attune keys and give a description of the murderer, though. ;)

Ah, is this inventory or terrain scents? And what does the other last?

I agree with the general sentiment that there are circumstances where it should probably be possible to kill in retaliation without necessarily having C&A. When defending your homestead, for example.
