I want to ask you guys for your opinions about this problem that have been with me for a while. While I agree that we don't want to be grieved by other players, we certainly should not be able to dismiss other's claims as they are granted by a permission from the government. Thus destroying a claim stone to remove the claim is not quite acceptable for me.
That plot of land that you bought from the government should be protected by your basic human rights and the authority of the government. Your sons or grandsons or any other close relatives should be able to inherit your ownership and carry on your rightful operations there. I find the claim that people are trying to grief you by making claims near your town or personal land illogical, because you do not own the land that they settled in. If you find it annoying to live near those filthy immigrants, inquire the government and expand your house or town's buffer zone.
But then grievers will be allowed to block you inside their stupid claims, which is also wrong and annoying. So what do?
I decide to ask for your help. Now, I do have a plan myself. It may sound bad, wrong, stupid, or short-sighted, but my point is to invoke the discussion about this topic. I also hope John and others in the team will someday have times to think it over, as for me this is quite a necessity.
My plan:
-Assign a governor with 2 weeks office time. restrictions and benefit of being a governor:
---------no mini map.
---------no weapon allowed. can't be killed, but can be knocked off and robbed.
---------no free movement out of Boston.
---------is granted the ability to teleport into a town for inspections of lawsuits but is not allowed to leave the town's border further than some x space.
---------can decide if you are a griever or not.
-Allow town to construct roads and the like public properties to prevent them from being blocked off by grievers. Also encourage civil services.
-A lawyer NPC in Boston that accept lawsuit to be filled.
-Player claims cannot be destroyed but will be taken back by the government if there is no heir after x amount of time. Towns can buy off player claims from government.
***one point that I think is good but properly not: granted a big chunk of land when you found a town, allow buying more land with HUUUUUUGE amount of money. no land upkeep.
I hope I have make my point clear and everyone will voice their opinions in this thread.
Best regard,
Trungdle.
