so with mines getting much larger in search of ore what about maybe paving the floor so a cart can move faster. perhaps use boards.

+1 with mines now being thoroughly and indefinitely excavated it sounds like a useful suggestion to me

Minecarts! Put fuel into them, light, and they will travel to the other end of the track on their own!

that would be fun ^_^ I think a lot could be done with mines tbh, it would add a whole new edge to the game

Seems like a good idea to expand some old folk-lore onto. Magical-self-moving mining carts.

or the cart would need manpower to push, but can hold a huge amount of boulders. and there will be a slot next to the entrance to place them so that we can access them outside the mine.

This is a great idea.
It would accomplish both the moving stuff inside and the annoying laggyness of walking in & out of mines over and over.

Easiest way to accomplish this I think would be to change the mine building to have a 1-2 tile open space next to it with a unique floor type. Similar to the stove area in a house. Players would then be able to build a crane or w/e is appropriate on that slot which would add a cart slot adjecent to the ladder inside and the cart bay outside.

Or the other way around. Since smelters and such can be underground now, why not add a chute where you can throw down the coal, without having to go in and out of the mine 20 times. Said coal would/could then appear in a neat stockpile next to your ladder where you can pick it up from.

This idea +1

I definitely think this is an idea for JC to work with since the idea of stockpiles is on the table already.
