So theres a bunch of cliffs giving me OCD and I wan't to make them flat instead of weird sharp things, any thoughts on making them diggable?

You can flatten cliffs you just sometimes have to build up around them.

Some cliff shapes can be so awkward as to be impossible to remove due to space constraints around them. Digging them out from below would sure make it easier.

It would make it much easier and it would be a nice thing to have, but I've dug out some fairly awkward cliffs and unless you live on a massive cliff face in the mountains I doubt any you have in your base are impossible.

Impossible cliffs may happen anywhere. They don't have to be massive. It's enough if there is a 1 tile hole with a 1 tile elevetion right next to it. To get rid of the hole you need to dig down around it, but can't because of elevation. To get rid of elevation you would have to raise the ground around it but can't because of the hole

I think the most likely impossible to remove case would involve water that prevents dirt from being piled up around the protrusion. I think so long as you have ground around something you can always get rid of it even if you have to alternately fill and dig out multiple contortions.

eh... I have dealt with impossible cliffs.

check this. Numbers represent vertices (where corners of 4 tiles meet) with their height. You can't dig or raise any of the vertices on the sides of 0 and 40 vertices. Thus you cannot remove 0 and 40
