Fearless!

Hi again pilgrims of Salem. Today while playing I was koed 2 times encountered a bear which I somewhat easily defeated ;)
Though after defeating the bear I was still under the influence of Fear which eventually koed me. I am here today to suggest that when you kill a bear that is aggroed to you, the fear meter will either go away fully, or go down faster then normal. If this would be to overpowered, maybe the affect of Fear could be lowered to where it wont ko you but your BB could lower your blood due to lack of sanity.

Anyways thanks for your responses :)

Part of what makes fighting a bear difficult is dealing with the Fear debuff and trying not to let it get so high that it KOs you, or frantically stuffing all your items in stumps and noting where you are so you can run back after you KO and hopefully still recover the bear.

Nope. Its one thing to defeat the bear. Its another thing altogether to not still pass out from the adrenaline and fear still pulsing through your body.

We our hoping our new 'Darkenbears' will have an arsenal of roars at their disposal which shall plague you in fun and unique ways long after the fights.

Roar in itself as a mechanic isn't an issue, I just personally can't wait to see hunting in its full splendor when you finally throw in some fun AI for the animals :) Charge spam for deers and a bear with a roar coughing fit are never fun, same as vanishing argos and all the other sily glitches. I get that right now they're needed to keep combat balanced, but in the future it'll be fun to see more cause and effect in what animals do in fights.

I already see the special "bear kick" that you will use when it stands up on his hind legs  As well as from the bear side it'd be predictable to wait a blow with his paw (analogue of punch to intervene the attacker's move).
Just thoughts :D

One does not know when creatures of the lumberwood appear. They simply.... Do.

How about crafting booze to lower the fear effect when drunk?

The booze should -naturally- have a lot of sideeffects (walking zig-zag, dropping random stuff from inventory, slower/sluggish attacks, etc. ) too
