I still love the idea. Everyone complains that they want more content, more industry, well here's a whole industry with lots of possibilities for many creatures in game now and the possibility to hybrid fish. We could even have rare albino frogs, crabs, etc. Again, rare.

Yeah, you guys are right on the "size" thing, but we do have some fish that would be just way too large to fit in a tank or a pond. The downside with the pond idea is it would be hard to keep it at a proper salination level for salt water fish. Of course, for ease of gameplay, this could be ignored, so don't know why I'm even saying it.... (guess the same could be said for the size issue, too, unless we wanted "large" and "small" ponds.)

Coles has already casually mentioned he may like this to be in game, so it's already being coded for the next update. They'll make it work.

Here's an example of where I got the thought from http://animalcrossing.wikia.com/wiki/Fi ... Furniture)
You can also have bug containers which are linked on the wiki

Link appears to not work for whatever reason so here's what's on it

In the Animal Crossing series, Fish can be placed in your house like furniture. When placed they come in their own fish tank (the tank itself does not take up any space in your bag). It is unknown where the fish tanks come from. Only the smallest fish tanks (1x1) can be placed on tables.
Unlike Bug Cages where the lid colour varies on sell price, there is no visible variation in the tank save for decoration. In earlier games fish tanks were nearly identical, but in Animal Crossing: City Folk all were updated with more detail and varying bases which range from sand and gravel to dirt.
There are three sizes of fish tank; 1x1 (small fish), 2x1 (large fish) and 2x2 (very large fish). Goldfish do not live in tanks, and swim in a blue-rimmed bowl with seaweed.
