for me it's probably:

- dried boards, no doubt about it.
- ore, I want to be able to chip those boulders and store them compactly
- lime, I want to be able to dig lime in advance compared to chipping it once every 40 minutes because I'm too cheap to build more sheds near my smelters
- coal, I guess. I have little issue with it, but then half my first mine level is dedicated to coal clamps
- turtle shells ¦]
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Inspirationals lol :)

Things that were cluttering our base were:
- Dead bodies of animals
- Crates to store lots of vegetables for cooking (also sheds of them, etc.)
- Lime boulders
- Lots of logs, but they were placed in one place so they look like just one log :)
- Pots O_o I guess it'd be really nice to be able to stack them up while not in use O_o
- Drying racks - but I'm okay with them
- Hay drying frames - it'd be nice to be able to gather hay from the drying frame and store it in some kind of different-type-hay-stack... like this? That would take less space just by storing more hay.

Coal and boards are the most obvious absolute must haves.

Lime is 50-50 - by the time you build a few sheds and let your crushers fill up its not the end of the world.

That being said from a time efficiency standpoint its best to spam your current task and hoard in this game. Storage should accommodate. Thus I'm always in favor of more storage.

There was talk a while back (from me I think) about a new building called a storehouse that just had a ton of space. Well really I was hoping for it to be underground with the ability to build in multiple access points from all over the base for quick centralized storage. Regardless, I'm talking 10k storage spots here - perhaps broken up into units of 500 at a time.

Another option: Perhaps when we get barns for animal husbandry we can choose to either build stalls, or bins in different parts of it. Bins hold 500 units each. They are cheaper than sheds - because you paid out the high initial cost of building the barn to begin with.

Encumbrance system brought back alt vaulting - poor JC - game architecture is so much fun

Many people play with a second client up a lot to log alts anyway, and its not like it takes long to open one if you don't, so it doesn't take much to just switch over to your storage character. Do you think boxes/chests/sheds/cupboards are in some way hard to destroy? And its not like you can't move stuff off the alt if you're going to get raided and you are worried about it getting popped and since its already on an alt its even easier to dump or port.

Security or ease of destruction are no factors in here. The only factors are convenience and amount of slots vs their cost.
BTW I think hay landed on that list only because of the needles. People spamming hundreds (or thousands) of hay to get this one needle.

Wow, really great ideas about a storage building. :)
