That being said from a time efficiency standpoint its best to spam your current task and hoard in this game. Storage should accommodate. Thus I'm always in favor of more storage.
There was talk a while back (from me I think) about a new building called a storehouse that just had a ton of space. Well really I was hoping for it to be underground with the ability to build in multiple access points from all over the base for quick centralized storage. Regardless, I'm talking 10k storage spots here - perhaps broken up into units of 500 at a time.
Another option: Perhaps when we get barns for animal husbandry we can choose to either build stalls, or bins in different parts of it. Bins hold 500 units each. They are cheaper than sheds - because you paid out the high initial cost of building the barn to begin with.
Encumbrance system brought back alt vaulting - poor JC - game architecture is so much fun
