Hooves are far from rare. Players with viscera should be getting them between one in every 3 or 4 deer.

Still the idea was too make sheds cheaper, in reality they became quite a bit harder.

I like the idea of having more materials required and such tho.

They are fairly common and since its not uncommon to get multiple from a single deer, and deer are very easy to kill, eventually high level players will probably sell them for a decent price.

Before i got the Viscera Skill Hooves were very hard to get i got maybe 1 after 10 deer,and generally never saw antlers ever (1 in 10 rate currently). Now with the skill i see a hoof or 2 every 2-4 deer and have a dozen in my sheds staring at me.

Now currently my issues is with bear spawns, which are very few for me and of the ones i do see I've killed about 6 of them so far and yet to see a paw naturally from a bear. I don't know what shrub is, which is supposed the spawning hotspot because all i have is spiderlands, autumnal,Dark Forest (used to be bears everywhere), grasslands and cranberry lands and there i see a bear once every few days. I understand bears being hard to fight atm got knocked for 74 once (low reel and imbalance was during a bullrun), but to have a rare chance at a inspirational and then a rare chance to see a bear is a bummer atm.

Yes you will notice that the spawn rates for Viscera are quite generous. This is intentional.

If you recall, our general design philosophy was such that each profession would not only have a nice bonus for itself but also have a nice bonus in making goods for their towns and/or community. What good is there to bringing the hunter, or bringing the corpse back to the hunter if every player had the same chance to get maximum butcher results. Also in addition to this we wanted hunters to have an incentive to sell their bits and pieces of animals to the general public for what would be less value to them (given the plenty that they see them) vs. how rare they are to non-hunters.

All in all, we are pleased with the results thus far.

The discussion of animal spawns though seems more split than we thought. Given that we intend to add other animals as well we will most likely be pulling back spawns if for no other reason than to add room for the additional creatures. We will give more time for this thread to evolve and grow though so players can convince us one way or the other.

It seems like there is also a good number of players who feel bears are not common enough in general. We will look into buffing this but we do still want a bear to be something where you feel you must kill it when you find it, and not some animal you can reliably farm.

I don't think anyone want bears to be so common they are just standing around their towns waiting to be killed but it would be nice to be able to reliably find one on a long hunt. Maybe you could create a bear tracking skill that would allow you to know if there was a bear in the area and in which direction it was in before you are close enough to see it, that way bears would not need to be too much more common but if someone wanted to actively hunt them they could still find them.

For the sake of discussion I shall go spawn in the wilderness and see how long it takes me to find a bear.

It is nice having all the animals to hunt. Unlike before, you don't have to walk so far to find them. I would like to see more bears in the coniferous and autumnal forests. The gobbles can be annoying at times but just need to kill them to stop the noise.

I got 4 bears in about 20-30 minutes or so. Definitely seemed to be a bit more in Coniferous with 2 of them being there, 1 in autumn, one in shrub. I find that I generally dislike greenwood unless I want spiders so I will add some bears to it with no greater intensity to the other biomes and see how that feels.

I live in a Coniferous Forest so maybe that's why I don't think that bears seem particularly rare.
