Use woodblocks or wood shavings for meat smoker fuel instead of branches.

Add a third teleport option, "...to Town Bell". It'll only work within 50 tiles of the town bell that you belong to.

In North America, hickory, mesquite, oak, pecan, alder, maple, and fruit-tree woods, such as apple, cherry, and plum, are commonly used for smoking.

Never pine, pine makes the food bitter. Oak is one of the most common, and hickory in the states.

Hickory is used for the most part. Thats why people will go crazy for the fruit and other less used flavors.
