Recently i met Salem and I am amazed.I spent hours reading the forum and say that even with all the problems have not stopped being amazed.
The issue of permadeath was what attracted me and removes it would kill the game for me. However Salem consumes much time and, I believe a larger base of players attracted by this type of game are older with commitments such as work, school and family. Soon becomes unfeasible invest in something similar.
I quote my example, I hope some of you indentify yourself;
I played Ultima Online for 13 years, 7 years in a RP Shard and these seven years I played with only 4 characters. The Shard was plus RP PvP and permadeath very laborious climb the very macro skills (grinding). But the grind took second place in the face of political and economic dynamics, it was incredible. This is what I expect from Salem, economic relations, political and physical power of course.
But I emphasize that permadeath in the shard that I played became a big problem, because many people stopped playing when they lost their characters. Due to the great effort invested in them and some even cry and become depressed (lol). Developers to solve this problem become with this great idea: a system in which you have 3 points of fainting (vitality) after losing the last point you die.1 vitality is recovered after 1 month. Another positive highlight in my view that a similar system be applied in Salem is located in profitability. Imagine this, you live with your character for 1 year, so you do not want to wait for months to retrieve the point given the real danger of dying, then you advance one month for an amount of real money. Well, it's an idea and everything in it is adjustable. In my view does not lose the momentum of permadeath (by my experience in Ultima Online), solves the problem and is still a lucrative way of developers have the return of their effort.
I'm happy with the opening of the forum for suggestions. I hope my review has been positive. Among others, here is my hug and I apologize for the poor english, because that is not my native language. Hope to see you all in game (unfortunately so far I have not seen anyone).
