There are wikia that do support loading all titles into the client so that they can support auto-completion and display of those pages that start with what is typed; however, that takes a lot of power. It is quite obvious that we are dealing with server capacity issues without that sort of feature.

Yeah I think that's beyond our capability right now.

I'm worrying about open beta. If we can't handle this well, what'll happen when they make the marketing push?
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Paradox/Seatribe just has to decide how much they want to spend to provide wiki support for us; the wiki engine has the capacity if the servers are adequate (I have participated in large and more active wikia using MediaWiki). At least this isn't a fan site trying to scrape by on contributions.

Isn't wiki fully supported by players (sabinati in this case)?

That was my impression.

Some official support would be welcomed (read server capacity), there wouldn't be even close to half the amount of players in the game if it wasn't for the wiki.

I have to admit I'm concerned also, if you look at the sites offering beta keys for Salem, they have 1000's left, usually beta keys are snapped up within days but if there were a sudden influx of new players the wiki would quite frankly die under the stress.

They've been releasing thousands of keys lately, and they haven't made much of a marketing push. Most of the sites releasing keys have already been the ones that salem has been talked about on.

Moo or Sabinati :

There used to be a really nice disclaimer from Paradox/SeaTribe about the wiki, but I can't find it any more. Assuming I am haven't fantacized the whole thing, it should probably be published on the disclaimer link at the bottom of each wiki page.

(The Disclaimer and the About link on the botom of the page should probably have something in them in any case -- not sure about the privacy link).

there is probably some improvement possible to the search via some plugin. i'll look into it.

i have my concerns about the server capacity as well. currently it is still a little slow for my liking. i think there are some additional tweaks that can be made to optimize performance.

i am not receiving any support from paradox or seatribe for the wiki. it is the official unofficial wiki. however, ad revenues do cover the current expenses of the server. i can increase the server's humors further if I increase revenues, perhaps by putting additional ads on it, but i am loath to do so, at least until i see if there are any other avenues to increase the efficiency under the current resources.

Not sure what you mean about a disclaimer, ramuller. maybe moo posted one on the old forum? try shooting him a pm i guess, i don't mind putting something on those pages but I don't think anyone actually reads those.
