I had been deleting them some way back when. She had tried to make everything fit under a game menu path because it was "easier for editors to name pages"

EnderWiggin wrote:About game menus - are they really needed in the wiki? I think generic page that describes how UI works and what shortcuts and whatnot is available will be enough.

I am toying around with a simpler concept for the menus; however, I am not sure exactly how to do the presentation.

Rather than have those menu pages with their hokey naming, we could just use a nested set of sub-categories under the Game Menu category for the pages that represent things in the menu and a small menu box on the pages showing the menu trace for the action/recipe. Although that box could be part of the big, brown info box, it might be easier to make it a separate box (perhaps right justified).

This could be a good place to also introduce the keyboard shortcut letters for menu entries.

Edit: I made a template http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Template:Gamemenu and added it in as an example on http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Tanning_Tub. I didn't bother filling in any of the example category entry; however, it might just contain any text from the in-game menu and a category entry for it's parent.

Comments, gripes, and more tangible forms of positive feedback always welcome.

I am having trouble getting the http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Roasted ... attler_Cut page to show up on the food page. I tried just making a trivial change to get the page to refresh, but that didn't help, and there doesn't seem to be any significant difference between it and the page for Roasted Beaver Cut.

Do you need help with updating the wiki? Some of the sections are fairly outdated?

I have fairly aggressive caching set up for performance... you can do a null edit (in this case on the food page and/or category:food page) by pressing edit and then save, or append ?action=purge to the url of the page you wish to refresh.

Simple edits are, well, simple. If you need help formatting a page, look at similar pages (you may find that most of the pages you want to make, such as adding a new item, use templates that do all the hard work after you fill in a few pieces of information). There is plenty of tutorial information on those templates on the help item on the toolbox to the left of the page. Additional tutorial information is available with the contents link to the MediaWiki sight. If you decide to add a page of information about a particular aspect of the game (such as a discussion of combat mechanisms) and don't feel comfortable with the formatting, just put a note at the top of the page asking for help "wikifying" the text.

The way the wiki is set up (wikia in general), you can't do anything that can't be undone or later improved upon. You may notice the history tab at the top--that lets us all see every version of the page and allows for easy recovery. Also, there are a number of contributors who tend to watch the recent changes page to see what is happening and keep an eye out for changes from new contributors with an eye towards helping them fit into the community.

I moved gluttony values tables to separate pages. I also changed Food template and the way those tables are generated, so hopefully they won't be as heavy for the server.
Food template also displays "per tick" ratio after slash, and average values per humour on the bottom. Hoewever, it does a lot more parsing of passed parameters to calculate averages and values per tick. I tried to use variables, but seems we don't have this extension. So possibly those features might get removed.

Probably I have also fixed tables with gluttony values per event (they didn't work on chrome before) - does anyone even use those? I would gladly get rid of them.

Updated Agriculture page with info about Corn

Sabinati, could you take a look later if there was any impact on server's performance?

Is the per-tick information all that useful? It seems to complicate the display.
