They have quite literally said that many times. I'm fairly sure the website says along the same things.

I know they have said this stuff many times I just think it would be useful to have a sticky thread in I&I that says what the devs do and don't want out of the game. It would help reduce the number of posts about peoples "great ideas" on how to reduce PVP to to make the game more mainstream.
As far as the description on the website goes it reads like it was carefully crafted by Paradox to not scare players way.

If people researched their ideas like they are suppose to do before posting it wouldn't be needed.

Crafted by pdox or not it still says exactly what the game is.

Thats kind of like saying that the help section does not need stickies because a search could find the same information. A research could find the information but people are lazy so to reduce pointless posts cluttering up the forum there are stickies.
The description says little very little about they type of PVP system in the game. It says that its has permadeath and is a fully open sandbox MMO but that does not necessarily mean full loot with no safe place to store your stuff in game.
It would be easy for them to write up a list of things that they want the game to have and things that they are unwilling/unable to implement and them it wont take a bunch of digging to find.

I means exactly that and a simple search would also net someone a definite answer

Would be just as easy for one of us to do the same since they have said a great deal about it.
