The problem is that you don't know how to play the game at all, if you watched some let's play of how people that actually know the game progress from zero, this would be another story, there is no such let's play yet tho.

Perhaps. But we did fix it so that the tooltip IS showing that they are spending more and more inspiration so this would only be a byproduct of being unobservant. I"m not ALL that worried about people who feel they shoudl abandon a character they planned poorly with for their first few 100K inspiration spent. I myself would probably do the same thing to try to min-max how far I could get in a game like this on the first 24 hours before 'realizing' that I was better off just muscling through with my original guy.

No amount of tutorials / guides / warnings will fix it. It is perfectly normal for a new players to try the stuff (and possibly start a new character) several times before they get it right

Yup, for that i agree a help pop up might help, still the first thing newbies think once they've ran off inspiration points is "uh, i guess i'll have to log out and don't play until that replenishes?" That's what my gf and 2 friends did when they started playing.

That's because they are weaklings and amateurs! Throw them at the boss for extra DPS

That's where the explorer spirit helps, and the hoarder spirit >.> First thing I did after studying on my very first char was wander and wander and wander some more, pick up everything and see what it did. As an older player I can see how the system might be daunting for some people, but to be fair I'm starting to see JC's point of view of .. what's the point in forcing people to be curious and explore and take risks if that's not what they like doing? The system will just filter curious people and reward them with the sadistic sort of entertainment Salem provides, mix of rewards and penalties and death and rebirth, the whole shebang. After the game gets more publicity and becomes established people might give it a second chance and possibly break free from the current gaming models and discover something else, that they might like once they stop thinking in terms of the hand-holding other games do quite frequently.

I agree Lachlaan. The simple fact that this guy reached the end of his inspiration and then mistakenly belived that it would only be solved through either waiting or paying real money to get a boost shows the way the gaming market has developed recently. That and the fact that curiosity has rarely been so important to a game as Salem. Nowadays walkthroughs and tutorials seem to strip the wonder and natural want to discover from their players.
Do not argue with idiots, for they will pull you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

AT least he is honest and straight forward.
Either we sticky the Optimizer, Make pop-up, or we have a way to tell people that "there's a work around and you can do it even with a new char"
You thought I quit.
