I don't see the issue.
Blue shells are given exclusively to losing players to allow them to take down whoever is in lead effordlesly.

Guns simply hit everyone equally, regardless of advancement. Anyone can get them.
Guns tip the balance in favor of numbers rather than smaller, strong groups. It has nothing to do with giving losing players an easy win.

Giving losing players an easy win was not the point.

Bringing down to the fray someone that was too high up to tackle is.

If you care to math:

25% of 10 is 2.5
25% of 200 is 50

Doesn't look like a musket has the same effect on everyone.
Since you eventually start hitting for more than 50 muskets aren't really that good when you are high up.
Also because the shot is a percentage: on a 200 biles the first does 50, the second does 38 and the third 28.

To recap:
You don't need to be high up to use it.
It is a lot more convenient if you are not high up.
It is practically useless if you use it on someone that is way lower than you on biles.

The hit is based on the max blood, not the current blood.
It makes it easier to catch a target due to the snare effect.

High up is also rather subjective here. There is much more to pvp than raw biles. I'd say being able to organize a big group of players is a form of winning on its own. Biles isn't all that matters.

Guns are a tool useful to just about any group. This definitely includes less powerful groups too but they are by no means the only ones.

They're muskets.
Not ak47's.

You can't just point your gun at a target and pew pew pew them down.

Hitting a moving target with a musket is not an easy feat, especially with obstacles around. You make it sound as if you can just make a new 5/5/5/5 alt, give it a gun and go on a killing spree taking out all the top players.

Guns are a way for smart/experienced players to beat raw bile number advantages. An idiot with a gun will probably hurt more trees than targets.


The actual blue shell of salem would probably be the increased ease to get combat ready characters. Anyone late to the party can still catch up with biles given a bit of time.
