Main issues on glutony and combat system

Postby CoS » Mon Sep 16, 2013 11:27 am

I left this game few times and few times started it over just to see what's new. But for now i see two main problems which present all this time.

1. There's no actual cap on humours. So there's no need to rise 'em up unbalanced as you have to do with classic "stats" in other games where you're limited on "stats points". It makes useless to put any differences between chars - to make one stronger, smarter, faster, toughter than other one.

2. The demage dealing is based on stats only, so even if game's combat system presents many combat moves and hits, they are almost useless: in head-to-head combat the most "fatty" on humours char will win regardless to skill and tactics. This makes the whole game come to "farm-eat-farm" gameplay, what is completly retarded (but presents in many MMO).

I see no way to make some changes on these issues without complete gameplay rebuilding, which will never come, so for now i'll take a break and see what'll happen next.

Simply because there is no hard cap to reach, that does not mean there is one. There is a soft cap decided by the amount of effort you want to put into gluttony. This is not one of those MMO games where you hit lvl50 and don't ever grow stronger again. As you expand your food options and purity stock, you'll find that reaching higher humours becomes slightly plausible again.

I'm afraid you don't know what you're talking about here. Have you ever tried a decent PvP match? Roanoke had the fight club a couple of months ago, where it was shown that tactics ARE an important part of PvP (at least when the other party is required to stay and fight). The alts were 50/50/50/50 humour alts, and it was not rare for alts to win with over half their blood left over. Slots and slot choice make a big difference as well, but I think you're stuck in the idea that combat is only using thrust. Try to get a hold of the concepts of reel and imbalance and your fighting will improve dramatically.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

You totaly missed the point two times, so i wander is it 'cause of my poor "Engrish", or is it something wrong with you, or you just didn't read OP at all. Just for you i'll try one more time:

I played this game from closed beta so don't need your lectures 'bout "soft cap". The point is that it makes chars buids invariant.

Instead of your blah-blah-blah 'bout 50-humours chars duels.

You clearly aren't very good a fighting because there is a lot of skill and tactics involved.

The complete goal is to overpower your opponent with your humours rate. You may call it tactics.

That is not true. The only char type that needs all biles is a fighter. Workers only need phlegm, farmers phlegm+bbile.

Then please read my reply again: if your post was correct, that would mean all 50-humours char duels would be so close as not to result in a clear winner. The fact that fights ended with such large discrepancies in health left means that tactics ARE involved. Stop fighting animals and start fighting stuff that fights back.

and you are just clueless outside of fighting crickets. Yes humors have a impact on fights but good skill and timing(or using a modded client) can gain you a massive advantage esp if you land some stuns or parry a thrust. I bet darwoth could roll you on his mexican pistol fighters vs as character you could make.

You are also incorrect that all damage is based on humors. Check the updates because we have slots in items to boost different attacks.

I don't think you are even playing this game at all.
