Sell-Stalls

Postby Heffernan » Sat Oct 04, 2014 12:43 pm

Hello,

how about changing the stalls so you are able to also buy things at your own stalls as seller?

edit: also it be nice if we could choose to have names on stalls (by own choice) so we know who to contact

I was hoping we would be able to buy stuff from our stalls too. His majesty should of course also get a tax here as well.

I've just realized that current brand old stall mechanic has a good abuse-prevention mechanics - you can't use your stall as free, secured storage. Everything you put on your stall must be sold, no exceptions, even if you want to withdraw your own items from your stall - you MUST buy it and lost some money for the taxes.

But if you have an ability to buy things, you can SECURELY store stolen (or not) goods on your stall, buying them from your partners in crime for 1 silver/each. Therefore, you can not just allow buying on TOWN stalls. That's sad.

There might be tax for storing bought goods, say, 5s/day/item. If you can't manage upkeep His majesty can just confiscate all your goods. ¦]

You can buy from your own stall... I'm positive I did this morning when I was playing around.

5s/day is not too much for full slotted Admiral uniform or another expencive something. For example, using current stand as secure storage, you will be forced to set a price from 2000 to 5000 of silver. That's 700-1750 pure silver waste.
With all abuse-preventive things buying up stand is not something-simple-ready-to-be-implemented-tomorrow.

Yes, but you can use alt vault for free.

We investigated "buy" mechanics. It proved to be a bit too cumbersome. Primarily in how the stall would know what you are willing to buy. There is no current and easy solution for simply typing an item name into the game and having the option populate especially with some of the item names not being overly obvious, and if you had to 'already have one' of an item to allow buying that seemed like a sub-standard approach.

Of course. This is why I never catched the point with stall restrictions. But if they're fighting with sell-vaults, they definitely want or need to fight with buy-vaults, because if they dont - fighting with sell-vaults has no sense.
