What if gluttony looked at the elements?
Each time you eat two items of with the same elemental values your invariance goes up. Similar to how your learning ability goes down when you study two of the same inspirationals.
This would favor growing fields of multiple purities as opposed to simply going for as high as you can, and would integrate with the change to have the different items actually make a difference.
For instance it would favor making meat pies with a bunch of different types of meats as opposed to spamming one type because they would result in the same element values.
