why a tent mustn't teleport to bosto? what is the problem with that?
a tent will inherit (or what'ever is write right) you homestead moving it on the phisical structure (named tent)

if a tent is used to siege a place (like easy run away) it's ok, you place the tent and TP to bosto but you can still do that without a tent or a leanto with TP and empty inventory... what is the difference? then if you are in combat status you aren't able to move elsewhere than on foot (i assume) like "Crime!" debuff after hitting a person, that is why you can't build and escape the fight in notime

and then again, a tent will be a bit long to mount and dismount, something like 30-60 seconds, that is preventing people to make a tent when seeing another guy in the forest hopping he isn't chasing you... that will allow the guy to arrive near you and chase you down without you "pop away" pressing a button

and so on... after teleporting to boston you are able to teleport back to location of tent... you can't if the enemy guy dismount it or destroy it (like a leanto... but a leanto leave scent)

after that i'll ask you: why a tent must be like a canoe? liftable on your back using the slot you normally use for backpacks or canoes? if i'm exploring i'll always bring with me a canoe to pass after big lakes and so on, there isn't possible the slot is used by a tent :I so making it occuping that slot is a lose of utility for tents

Well, I think tent should behave like claimstone and has a radius of 5 tiles and claimed zone of 1-2 tiles in every direction. When you erect the tent, there would be 2 boxes which, when checked, will let you port to either Boston or home but not both and neither can you port to Boston from your base. Also, you can give permissions to your friends when the tent is being used, all permissions will reset when you pack it. I agree with erecting/ dismounting tent takes time and drains phlegm. As I suggested before, personal tent takes one slot in equipment screen (I'd love to see it visually equipped above the backpack) while larger one can't be equipped and takes one slot in sled or whatever vehicle you use to transport it. Larger tent needs more time to construct as well, I'm thinking 2 minutes, slightly decreases with 2 or more people. It might be a silly idea but players can decorate/ camouflage the tent with branches which gives it the graphical look of green branches on the tent. It could be fun.

mmm why? why you need a claim around your tent o.O?

i don't understand, you want the travel "camping --> boston" but you don't allow "boston --> camping"???

I like this idea but to make it viable you would need to introduce horse + carts first for large movement of goods, then camps etc afterwords.

Also you would need to remove the teleport function.

We are just brainstorming ways to balance this tent idea. 60 seconds to unfold your tent is not much compared to the time and effort and inventory it takes to gather materials and when people can log out on will, making them wait to escape a possible attacker doesn't address the issue much. With the lento it takes an investment to port to Boston and back with goods, a tent means no investment. And you want it to not even take up a slot in your inventory or the backpack space. This is why I compared it to a magic ring.

When creating an idea for the game it's important to think about balance. Do you have any ideas on how to make it less overpowered if not the ideas we suggested?

Because when you have a horse, a cart or other kinds of transportation later on, you need a place to park it outside of the tent.

1st box: Camping site->Boston and back
2nd box:Camping site->Home and back
You can only check 1 of these, not both. And while one of those boxes are checked, it is your homestead instead of your base.

How about the travel weariness like in H&H? After the tent is constructed, there's a box that shows you weariness bar which is full in this case and you can't port to any where until the bar drains to less than half. Since the tent is so easy to carry and we have conflicted ideas on where to put it, I suggest personal tent can't be carried on char or in inventory and takes 1 object slot when put in sled, cart or carried by horse while larger tent takes 2 slots. So whenever you want to have a camping trip with friends, you have to bring your transportation which is an investment and imposes more losses.
Also, when you use the teleport function to Boston or home base, the travel weariness bar will go up to full. To help it drain faster, player has to eat a full meal of different foods (cakes, pies etc...in all, not the foraged stuff) and drink alcohol. The fastest rate to drain it to half bar is 30 mins. This way, people will have to calculate ration to bring with during a camping trip.

yes you're right, a leanto is an investement in terms of time, not in terms of moneys
if you move to where you want to raid some1 with 2 hays in your invetory, you can easly find a hollow log to chip 10 wood to make a leanto whitout any investement
a tent is simply faster

why "Home and back"? if i teleport to home i'll make the tent my HS and then, how i can port back without losing the tent?
i think porting to home is pointless becouse that will make raiding and moving stuffs even more easy than now... only with less Alts

i like that idea of weariness to prevent superfast abusing
that is good ^^ (but must be in terms of no1 can dismount and mount the tent losing all the weariness)

Ok, scratch the home and back. Just Camping site->Boston and back like normal HS. This actually enforces the idea of ration and weariness. Thanks.
