I could consider paying $20.00 a month for this game, these $30.00 or $100.00 purchases are insane and stupid.

Drop the prices of the premium items, lets say you sell 1 or 2 $20.00 items. That's fine, but if it was $3-$5 you see EVERYONE running around with them. i.e. more purchases, 20-30 people buy some clothes for $3.50 you're looking at $70-$105 instead of $20-$40.

Which is why McDonalds has a dollar menu.

I would say 10$ per month max.

As for shop price fully agree. People would buy more even in medium stage of server they are in.

If monthly payment is not an option, you need some items that could be bought and be useful in current servers/worlds stage and not only for new people that are joining, but also for those who are playing since server day 1.

I think it was suggested before, but terraforming is always needed, so any NPC for $ that would terraform land to desired height?.

Maybe some steel axe/pick axe/shovel to make boring things little more faster.

Safe storage (metal chest size with lock) in capital city.

Diggers/terraformers pack:
- metal shovel,
- script (labouring),
- new item that would boost your digging speed +100-200% for 1-2 hours and you would be able to just disintegrate dirt that your char got about his head,
- some cloth with basic artifacts for faster digging even after boosts are gone

A lot of the stuff in this thread sound cool.

I hope none of them are put in the cash shop, ever.

I personally feel uncomfortable buying in-game items, but the idea of simply giving a "Donation" seems more appealing. I know that they are functionally equivalent, and that I could just buy some silver and dump it in the middle of Boston (or a River, to prevent inflation), but that's not the point. Donating money freely to people making things I like feels better.

I suppose you donate to Kraft Foods for making a fine macaroni and cheese dinner, but don't expect any actual KD in return? Do you donate to Apple because you like the iPhone, but don't actually want one in return?

Paradox is a business. Their business model is to make money on microtransactions. They're not a couple kids in their mom's basement trying to make a game for their friends (one that will perpetually remain in alpha 0.0.3). To accept donations would falsely give people that impression, and could actually do irreparable harm to the brand.

Cosmetics make a lot more sense. You're really only buying the stuff to support the game, and you get to display to everyone else how you supported the game while advertising a way that they can do the same (when they see the cosmetic and also want one).
The sweat and blood shed by its people had established a strong foundation upon which the most powerful entity in the world would be built.

That's a good point, you're right.

Also people would be tempted more cos if you are griefed you only lose that $3.50 instead of $25

In case this has not been mentioned: Instant leveling of land for a certain sum of silver per square.
