Make rest of Roanoke accessible

Postby Wournos » Tue Jan 08, 2013 7:58 pm

I've been exploring and found a much larger area of Roanoke city claim than I had previously access to (west/south-west of Roanoke). The only problem is, to get there you'd have to walk out of the city claim and walk for roughly an hour if you haven't learned Swimming, or swim across the slimmest of rivers to get there - which still takes a long time. Swimming across the marked sections will most likely require Phlegm in 30s, something that will not be available without much effort.

I would like to see a bridge on either of the marked spots. One will require Swimming to get there faster. The other will not. I believe this will reduce the lost lives of newcomers on the current Border Claim, because they will be less restricted to go there, and also open up for more foraging/hunting crickets for everyone. Not to mention offer a change of scenery...

Honestly, the newbies will be far better off just using the random wilderness teleport, rather than walking straight into the ruscave on Roanoke.

I don't know what you mean by "ruscave" but if you are referring to the Russian camp that will not happen (or at least happen less) if there is a bridge on one of these points. Newcomers won't have to leave the safeness too soon because they have nowhere else to go.

This is not just for newbies. I'm thinking ahead. The current area is a bit small for those who forage or kill small game in the safe area of Roanoke. What if the game actually expands and more people decide to take advantage of the safeness of Roanoke. It will be crowded!

The game is not supposed to provide "safezones" apart from the tutorial part. I guess thought it could use a bridge in case there's a lot of new characters starting at the same time, in which case the area would be drained of forageables necessary to completely the "make inspirational - study" part of the tutorial.
