What should Post Expedition Updates look like?

None. Leave us alone let the server be stable, and update in between expeditions.

Monthy features seem like the best course of action, They allow for enought time for things to be enjoyed, without the game getting stale or feeling abandoned. Prison Architect uses this model and it works quite well.

You're way late on this one. John already announced his vacation for the next couple months while the expedition runs. There will still be a few balance changes and bug fixes, just no major additions aside from the ones which are already coded and waiting.
