This post made 0 logical sense.

By this logic, all separation of all subforums is pointless, and people could just post [Trade][Popham] or [Off topic] and all be on 1 single section, right?

No, I've already considered this. We didn't have subforums for each server back when there were three of them, and I don't think we need them now. Not yet, anyway. If things get too confusing, I'll split it all up for the next expedition. For now, I just want to see how things go as is.

The trade forum concerns me mostly because many people who trade on one server will possibly trade on both, so I plan to keep an eye on that and count the number of Popham vs Providence vs both threads. People who want to trade on both would have to make two threads instead of one and I don't know if an extra subforum there is worth inconveniencing those people. I would welcome PMs from large traders who have an opinion there.

HoB is probably more easily divided, but we'll see. There hasn't been a lot of Providence drama in the last few months and I suspect almost all the players who were creating it are now in Popham anyway.

Personally, I find the Help section confusing, if anything, as newbies often fail to specify which server they are on and that can make advice more difficult.

For now, I think it's a fine solution to put the server name in the title of your thread if you think it necessary.

Who gives a ***** what some random trash that joined 2 days ago thinks?
He's just going to quit the moment he gets killed like so many other people joining at this time.

I remember when you were some random trash who just joined 2 days ago. I took your ideas seriously too and look where you are today! Some kinda minor raider.

I'm always willing to listen to ideas for changes to the forum and explain why I do or do not intend to implement them, and/or discuss them further.

Personally I read forums through "view active topics" option (with rare exception for trade winds), I am not sure if that and "view new posts" are more popular ways than checking it through subforums, but your suggestion would have exactly the opposite effect for me. It is much less of a mess with [%servername%] in the title for me than it would be with separate subforums. Russian Hnh and Salem forum has both games separated this way and active threads in Trade or Politics subsubforums can be very confusing. Try to guess to which game threads like "How to plant apples?", "Selling clay" or "Questions on beekeeping" are related without looking somewhere you wouldn't normally look when reading a thread.

I've actually been playing since the days of hopping between roanake, and plymouth my old account had maybe 100 posts to it, and i hated the name, was somewhat obvious when i went from "i need help" to getting 2 of the oldtop 10 scalps getting my name on the gluttony board about 5 times, and getting one of the first t2 witches, a few months later, but thanks for giving me the time of day under the belief i actually was new :)

Thanks for such a thoughtful response. This makes sense.

Thanks for pointing out the strawman. I try not to, but youre definitely right that I fell into that one.
