...why do we need an overly complicated mechanic to tell us how to do politics? I went over the entire thread and have not found a reason for it.

Exactly. Its a bad idea that would be hard to implement and wouldn't be fun.

We can start with a hard-lined guideline for people to conduct whole-server politics. That is, things that affect all of us.
