Well, I guess that makes it useful that we are going through a process in which mechanics and gameplay are tested in the wild by real players to the breaking point with the goal of refining later iterations of what we have now. The capacity for dedicated players to surprise devs is legendary.

Players always find ways to break things, but Claeyt lost that bet. He specifically said a 4-500 humor unkillable player and John Carver, when he took the bet, mentioned several times that he took it because no matter the humors, no one is unkillable. That's a big point of the new combat system. Just look here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10631&view=unread#p147180

As for the laundry system, if we do ever have wear on clothing, I think a couple forms of repair would be nice. 'Washing' and 'Mending' to extend their life, with high proficiencies in Thread and Needle and perhaps in Pots and Pans (for the washing), you'd be better at such repairs and so could make the clothes last even longer, though they would have to wear out eventually. I don't think any diminishment of the properties is fair though unless the diminishment happens only after the clothes have reached a certain low point.

Sounds perfectly reasonable...
I wouldn't like it if clothes remained 100% effective for too short.

But consider that if the debuff on artifact effects is just, say, 25% of total points, that would mean that out of a +20 bonus only 5 points would be ever detracted at all. That in turn means that the first point of debuff will only become effective when the piece of clothing is over (100/5=) 20% dirty, which leaves you already a pretty nice degree of freedom on when to wash your clothes.
For noob clothes it could even be considered negligible (ex. max 1 point detracted out of +4 bonus). High level gear on the other hand would need to be washed more frequently (the necessary washing/drying times planning could be viewed as a nice balancing factor).
I was lucky...
