My hindsight vision tells me we will need a skill "Animal Husbandry" to be able to ride horses in the future, build a "Stable" to keep said horse or horses from dying or running away or something. Something also tells me that this skill to ride horses will probably and hopefully be 150-250 in profs so its end game. This stable will require and should require a tremendous amount of resources (think windmill but worse).

Of course I am probably totally wrong and the "Childish Things" will let us ride horses LOL ¦]

The problem as i see it is only half the ability to keep horses around at your homestead for longer.

The other half of the issue is the one i presented, namely that as a person who wants to make use of the horses, you at this point need to have built your base in an accessible area or else you can kiss that idea goodbye. The fact of the matter is there is no way around being surrounded by a river system, or mountain range with none of the newly implemented sloped mountains. So that just makes horses useless for half the playerbase, which is why I think that some form of hotfix that gives us a workaround for those roadblocks would be a nice relief even in the long run, if not right away. Think of it as the horse version of the Berrymash Purgative. Except with food you just get a timer, with horses if there's no gap in your geographic prison, you're just forced to give up on horses altogether.

I think the crux of the thread is that they cannot currently do that. There are some settlements that are still inaccessible by horse (although a horse could get you a large part of the way there, I suppose).
