Skills that should be available for purchase aren't!

I've had this issue several times with skills and currently it is impeding my ability to obtain "Carpentry". It requires 600 Arts and Crafts, I have 1056/840 and 800 Hammer and Nail, I have 1088/940. I also have whittling, which the wiki suggests is required. Why does it persist in remaining red under the "available" column and why can I not purchase it?

With the last updates there's another skill required to unlock the carpentry skill. If the skill shows as red you still need to unlock it, if it shows orange it's unlocked. You're missing colonial tradesmanship to unlock carpentry.

Nevermind, problem solved. Didn't realize you had to have the skill level equal to the point maximum.
