Dowsing Rods Bugged

Postby Frakked » Fri May 09, 2014 2:19 am

Given:

39% Rod: 3.71 salt, 68.44 mercury, 37.44 Sulpher, 0.62 Lead
30% Rod: 22.77 Salt, 64.37 Mercury, 3.56 Sulpher, 9.31 Lead

I found a node with the 39%... but the 30% couldn't see it. Thought I'd found something decent.

Ore: 7.48 Salt, 66.34 Mercury, 25.05 Sulpher, 2.11 Lead (32% merc)

Perfectly within reason why 39% discovered it... but why doesn't the 30% rod see it? Because the tertiary element is off a bit? Seems far fetched... wth?

Thoughts? BS?

My vote goes with latter... (and another nail in the coffin of Salem)

20 point difference in sulphur. Makes perfect sense.

Although it does expand the range a rod can find since there's a 12.39 difference in sulphur. Perhaps it's a matter of the total difference. 4.07 higher merc on the rods, that makes for a total of 16.46 positive difference and similar negative difference. Keep pouring results in here if we want a more accurate guideline for what rods can find :P

Yes, if this were to be moved to the help section, it could be the start of a good prospecting !!SCIENCE!! thread.

Let's keep this one here so if someone does find a real, repeatable bug, they can follow up here.
