Ok, so this is strange. left clicking to move your character does NOT work. right clicking on objects does NOT work. However, clicking hotkeys, menu buttons and camera controls does work. I am completely at a loss here and confused.

Only change to my system since yesterday is a new monitor. Of course this makes the game impossible to play. it's nice i can move around with the keyboard...and mouse click the home and boston keys and see all what i can not do heh

Hm, try fiddling with your video settings? How to do that depends on your operating system, a quick google will point you towards the correct place to find the settings. Just a guess as that's the only thing I can think of that a new monitor might screw over... Maybe there's something subtle that's off with your video setup that only affects salem's interpretation of where your mouse is or something like that.

Otherwise, I've sometimes noticed similar symptoms after turning on the leveling tool and closing the leveling tool while it's still waiting for you to grab the ground. Results in the mouse not working until you hit ctrl-L again and turn it off. Shot in the dark, but maybe...

yeah, to replicate it exactly, you ctrl-L, click on the ground, then without clicking the grab/release button close the window and booyah, mouse clicking doesn't work. however, you can undo it by ctrl-L again and clicking the grab/release button.

As far as I try to fix this issue, so far i have tried all the clients including the horrible official one and rebooted the computer to no effect, i could try changing the resolution and see what happens, however i don't believe that will work either, but will try messing with those settings.

ok i discovered what it is...So, if this makes any sense. I changed the color depth from 16 bit to 32 bit and it started to work, changed it back and it stopped working, changed it again to 32 and it worked. I tried different resolutions didn't have any effect. But at least now i can play, thanks for your suggestion. I wouldn't have suspected it was related but for some reason...it is.

Lol, salem is a strange and mysterious game indeed. Oh well, glad it helped.

Glad you figured it out on your own. Yes, this is a known occurrence.

This happend to me all the time with enders client. Once i switched to Latikai's client it hasn't happened again.

I have a mac book pro laptop and tried changing colors, resolution, etc.

I finally found a fix for mac osx.
